On july 11, 1944, US military forces send a massive fleet including 15 aircraft carriers to Saipan, and started to attack it. In this attck, 500 fighter planes and naval gunfires fired off a lot of bullets to Japanese troops. 4 days later, the fighter planes consisted of more than 70 thousand soldiers started to land there. On the other hand, Japanese troops consisted of 40 thousand soldiers resisted by hit-and-run tactics such as night attacks and so on even while backing down. There were general japanese and local people there, so many citizens like them were involved in this battle. 4 days later, japanese navy headquarters set up a fleet of including 9 aircraft carriers against US fleet, and tried to attack it by 300 carrier-based planes. US military forces, however, knew this japanese troop's action in advance by devices such as a sophisticated radar and so on. For this reason and few japanese proficient pilots, the carrier-based planes were shot down one after another. In the Battle of Saipan, japanese troops lost 3 aircraft carriers and almost all carrier-based planes, but US naval vessels weren't damaged at all.
