RACCOON: The trimming trade worldwide continues to be an important factor in the fashion industry and we expect excellent demand for heavy type trimming Raccoon. Premiums will be paid for larger sized Canadian sections. Greece, buying and manufacturing coats for Russia, has been active all season and shortages resulted in increased prices in our later season sales. We expect Raccoon prices to remain strong through all of next season, starting with our January sale, which should see a strong opening. NAFA sold over 50,000 Raccoon for more than $28.80 during the season.
RED FOX: Strong demand continues for this item, particularly heavy and semi-heavy sections. The heaviest types and darker colors continue to be used as a high fashion piece in major markets like Italy, Korea and Germany. Demand from China for the flatter, more commercial sections softened at the end of the season, resulting in some resistance to price. More than 16,000 Red Fox were sold for over $43.20.
